My efforts to draw a cartoon a day is executed successfully. I have done it for Indian Express every day for almost ten years. So, that’s not a problem: the logistics of up-linking is. Some delays are therefore inevitable. As events happen one after the other, coping isn’t easy. Further developments sometimes render a cartoon obsolete and has to be discarded after all the work put in. That’s the way it is and will be: learning to live with it, is only the way forward.
The hectic developments resulted in a bunch again instead of the ones and twos as envisaged. May be this will continue for some time. Topics from Sushant ‘murder’ case turning into Bollywood ‘drug-hunt’, 2024 election prospects, G-20 Vs G-23, Govt. on a ‘construction’ spree and God being freely blamed for ‘Acts’ He may not even be aware of, are covered this time.
It has been long since I did a satire. So my next will be one. As per Delhi grapevine, the only person PM Modi is scared of is journalist Karan Thappar. The interview with Gujarat CM Modi in 2002 post Ahmedabad riots ended up in a fiasco! Thereafter the only interview Modi granted was to Akshay Kumar on condition probing questions will be limited to his favourite fruits, birds, hobbies etc. To cut the subject short, Mr. Thappar finally managed an interview with Modi and I managed to access an audiotape. I will share it’s content with you next.
