RANDOM CARTOONS - LOCKDOWN STORIES NO 4

Updated: May 9, 2020

The lockdown extensions aided by the vibrant Indian polity is flooding me with ideas. So, the lockdown story no. 4 follows in quick time. Don’t be surprised if no.5 too follows soon. And then 6 and so on. Opening of liquor shops instead of the small eateries such as Vada-pav stalls on which a huge floating population including the vendors themselves and their families depend to survive, the PM’s eagerly anticipated address to the nation yielding appreciations and nothing else etc etc are all contributing factors.

One more thing, I have all the qualifications to be sitting target for Corona: sugar, pressure and cholesterol! Being a resident of Maharashtra where the virus seems to have smelt blood seeing a weak enemy in Uddhav Thackeray, I have absolutely no idea how much time I have! So I am in a hurry to bring as much smiles to your faces as the God will be kind enough to keep the Big (actually tiny!) Bully away from me. So episodes will follow in quick succession - funny as well as hard-hitting. Anomalies and contradictions by the powers that be, affecting the common man will be dealt with, without exception whether one likes it or not. Sometimes it may lead to dark humour as in the case of comparison between causes of death. Can’t help it folks, that’s the reality of life.

Before I conclude, one last point. In my last blog all I emphasized was , in a gist, take all necessary precautions to prevent it’s spread, treat those who fall sick, but for heaven’s sake, let others live their lives. Let them free. How else will the nation’s machinery roll! How else those who are saved survive in the post-virus period with everything at a standstill. Without jobs, without income, attack by starvation will be more dangerous than Corona which no lockdown can help control. High time the Govt. took hard decisions based on ground reality rather than impractical perceptions which can boomerang! Over to the diaspora of the great Indian intelligentsia who alone can show the right direction in the matter rather than a handful of political and bureaucratic yes men surrounding the PM presently. Hope the PM turns to it for at least a second opinion on major issues before taking final decisions based on the advice of the know-all 'experts '! Jai Hind! Here goes:
